It was 45 years ago that our company built Spruyt Ave and our founder Larry Acchione remembers the job well. This time around the project was more than just an average road reconstruction. The primary reason for it was to install a storm water system that each home could connect to to help eliminate ground water issues and excess flow going into the sewer lines.
For each home on Spruyt Ave we installed a lateral connection and outdoor sump pit that was dug in and connected to the weepers. The system is being used to help manage the ground water issues and relieve flow being unnecessarily sent to the sewage treatment plant. Tight deadlines and a late start due to delays caused by Covid meant that we had to move quickly to have things completed on schedule.
Finishing up with curbs, fresh asphalt and sod, things are going to be all set for another 45 years!
