About the Role

This position combines estimating, client communication and project planning for excavation, underground servicing, septic and site-development work. It is suited to someone who understands how civil projects are built and can turn drawings, site conditions and client requirements into a clear, practical estimate.

• Annual salary of $90,000 to $135,000, based on experience.

• Earlier scheduled finish at 4:00 p.m. on Fridays, subject to project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Visit project sites to understand access, conditions, risks and scope.
• Complete quantity takeoffs, costing, subcontractor and supplier pricing, and written proposals.
• Identify exclusions, assumptions and potential project risks.
• Present estimates clearly and respond to client questions.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to confirm pricing and availability.
• Support project handoff and execution so estimated scope and field requirements remain aligned.
• Help refine estimating systems, historical costing and internal processes.

What We Look For

• At least five years of relevant excavation, civil construction or estimating experience is preferred.
• College or university education in civil engineering, construction or a related field; CET designation is an asset.
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu, CAD or comparable estimating and drawing software.
• Practical understanding of earthworks, underground servicing, materials, equipment and production.
• Strong organization, numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Professional client communication and practical problem-solving ability.
• Project-management, customer-service or sales experience is an asset.
• Valid Ontario G licence and reliable transportation.
